How to watch JJK in order
Season 1 (2020 to 2021)
Jujutsu Kaisen 0, the film (2021)
Season 2: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death
Season 2: Shibuya Incident
Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1 (2026)
That is release order, and it is the one to pick the first time. Story order moves the two prequels to the front: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death is set in 2006, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in 2016 and 2017, and season 1 in 2018.
Where does Jujutsu Kaisen 0 go?
After season 1. It is a prequel, set about a year before season 1, but it came out after it and was made for viewers who already knew the series. It runs 1 h 45 min. Don't skip it: it introduces Yuta Okkotsu and shows Geto as a villain, and both matter later.
What about the Execution movie?
Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution (2025) was a cinema release made of the end of the Shibuya Incident and the first two Culling Game episodes. Everything in it is in the series, so it is not listed here.
What comes after The Culling Game Part 1?
A fourth season was announced when season 3 ended. It will be added here once Wikipedia lists a release date for it.
How this list was made
What is included. The three released seasons of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime (2020 to 2026), with season 2 split into its two named arcs, plus the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021). The compilation film Execution (2025) only repeats series episodes and has no published runtime, so it is not listed. Season 4 is not listed until Wikipedia gives it a release date.
Release order uses each title's first release in Japan: the cinema date for the film and the first broadcast for TV episodes. Story order: There is no official story order. Ours sorts by the year each title is set in: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death (2006) first, then Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (from 2016), then season 1 and the rest (2018 on). Each title says how it was placed.
Essential. Essential means every listed title: each season or arc carries the main story, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 introduces characters the later seasons depend on. Each title says why.
Runtimes. Films use the theatrical running time. Series add up each episode's runtime as listed by TVmaze. Upcoming titles have no confirmed runtime and are left out of every total.
Where our two sources disagree, we use the figure from the title's Wikipedia article (it cites the classification board or the studio) and list both here:
Season 1: premiere: Wikipedia 2020-10-03, TVmaze 2020-10-02
Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1: premiere: Wikipedia 2026-01-09, TVmaze 2026-01-08
